Put On Your Dancing Shoes :: Club Le Roy in Helsinki
I was pregnant when I turned 21, which pretty much guaranteed a life with limited drinking opportunities, especially in swanky ballroom type establishments that turn into a night club after bed time. And, if I'm really being honest, moving to Morocco, a country where drinking alcohol is social suicide, and adding two more kids to the crowd, has pretty much meant that my most exciting night time dancing, especially this time of year, involves leaping out to the wood pile in my pj's while trying not to get my slippers wet in the snow before I dash back inside to stoke the fire.
That, however, has not kept me from daydreaming about visiting the beautiful and classy Club Le Roy in Helsinki, Finland. I'm completely in love with the decor because it feels warm and luxurious without being traditional or stuffy. The plush velvet seating, Greek key rugs, and well placed gold accents against the smokey dark walls have me tapping my toes. The disco balls warn of some serious fun, but really look beautiful mixed with the glass lighting.
A lot of Scandinavian homes actually have disco balls in them. No one has been able to tell me why there is a particular fascination with them, but Club Le Roy has made a very compelling argument on everyone's behalf. Perhaps you would consider some of these elements for your own home? You can invite us all over for a karaoke night!
