Love It or Leave It? The VERY Ornate Fireplace
It's not very often in the suburbs of Atlanta that you find an ornate fireplace like this one. In fact, this might just be the only one of its kind in the city of Atlanta... quite possibly the entire South.
This ornate fireplace is polarizing, or so it seems. Buyers seem to either love it or hate it.
We were just chatting about the polarizing ceiling, which happens to belong to this very same house... though most of you will be shocked to learn that when we went back to view this home they had painted over the cherub ceiling. I realize that keeping up with the Joneses has some advantages, but what if you just don't care what the Joneses are doing?
Sometimes custom additions add serious wow-factor and value to a home. It can be very difficult for agents to get inside buyers' heads. Most buyers scream, "No cookie cutter house!" but then when someone does something big... really big... the house just sits. Is it the cherubs? Is it the fireplace? Or is this beautiful home simply waiting for the right buyer?
I've tried nearly in vain to find a fireplace similar to this one and the only ones I could find were literally in Castles... Really. It's kind of hard to argue with a castle.
What do you think of the ornate fireplace? Love It? Hate it? Indifferent?
